getting a professional to handle bat infestation

Construction gaps, loose bricks, and any openings at the house offer varieties of animal chances to enter the building and live there. One of those animals is bats.

If you refer to the popular reference, you may think that humans will no problems living side by side with bats. After all, the earliest settlement humans ever built was inside caves. But this thought is severely misleading.

First, the bats themselves may not suck your blood as you have seen in the vampire movies. Only a few species feed on blood. Besides, they bite their prey and then lick the wound. The rest of the species eat bugs and fruits. So, aren’t their harmless?

Meet Guano, the Bat’s Droppings

But today, if you know that you live in a vulnerable area with a heavy bats infestation, getting vaccinated can shield you from Rabies. The droppings, on the other hand, can cause health problems ranging from skin rash, respiratory infection, and histoplasmosis.

Histoplasma capsulatum is a species of fungus that thrives on bat’s droppings. They release spores which can be airborne. Once you encounter a bat’s nest, do not approach it because of several reasons. First, you may not have the standard safety equipment. Second, scaring the bats does not remove them permanently. Instead, you make them change their place to somewhere else nearby. Third, if you kill the bats, you may destroy the local ecosystem. Some bats are on the verge of extinction, and exterminating them can disrupt the balance of nature.

You may not think that keeping the bats alive is important. But remember that they are predators to bugs. It is possible that if no bats are living around your place, the population of venomous spiders will increase. They are where they are not without reasons.
