| An aging writer suffering from writer's block has an affair with a much younger woman. The next day, as he is leaving to research a Mexican tourist guide, he proposes that she accompany him and she accepts. There ensues a faltering relationship without promises or consequences. A road movie set against a backdrop of grand opera, the careful imagery and direction is reminiscent of Antonioni. A voyage in the mexican countryside, in the heat of the summer sun. |
