Pierre has been murdered during a weekend in the country.  The most obvious suspect is his wife Claire since he had been unfaithful.  However, appearances can be deceiving.  The gun does not match the crime and other weekend guests are also potential suspects. It's a truly perplexing case for Lieutenant Grange especially when a second corpse appears to further complicate the situation.

Based on novel by Agatha Christie
